近日，我院王晓平教授的英文专著Ideology and Utopia in China’s New-Wave Cinema: Globalization and Its Chinese Discontents.在国际著名学术出版社Palgrave Macmillan正式出版。该书研究中国第六代导演的艺术电影创作，是国际上首部系统研究该艺术现象的专著。王晓平教授在国内外学界首次将它命名为中国的“新浪潮”电影，并将它与法国和意大利的电影“新浪潮”与台湾电影“新浪潮”加以比较。通过分析中国这股电影“新浪潮”中第六代导演如何展现在全球化时代中国的不同风貌的叙述策略，该书探讨了这一电影形式的历史性及其文化内涵，研究了这场新浪潮运动对于当下中国电影、文学与文化的影响。
